Saskatoon’s Métis Cultural Days is back for its sixth year and will be held September 7 – 10, 2023. We invite people of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and abilities to come together and learn about Métis Culture and Arts and to celebrate the strength and vibrancy of our community.

2018 recipient and 2019 nominee of the Aboriginal Tourism Award.

In the spirit of 'Year of Community' this year's history scavenger hunt will be: Métis Settlements Scavenger Hunt!
On Saturday, September 9, 2023:
Find all the historical settlements in this Métis Scrip Pass, learn the stories, get a stamp, collect all 9 stamps to be entered to win THE GRAND PRIZE ~ A PS5 (Details here)

This FREE event is held at the Saskatoon Western Development Museum, as we celebrate our heritage and share it with ALL OF OUR COMMUNITIES!

Interactive Métis Village, Elder Stories, Métis Market, Children’s Activities, Fiddler's, Singers, Square Dancers, Jiggers, Kayas Stage on Boomtown Street, Traditional Games, Interfaith Service, FREE Pancake Breakfast, Celebrity Neckbone Eating Contest, Art Auction and Charity Dinner (purchased ticket needed), Jigging Competition, and more!

Step inside and learn from our Métis Elders as they sit and tell stories of our history, both in Michif and English. Have the children engage in games and activities of the Métis. Enjoy a tasting of our traditional food, shop at our Métis Market, or enjoy our Kayas Stage, on Boomtown Street, for performances that will bring you back to a time and place that is dear to all Métis.

Jigging Competition and Family Dance - Thousands to give in cash prizes!

Join us on Friday, September 8th from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm for our jigging competition and family dance! (Saskatoon Western Development Museum)

Join our MCs,  Courtney Dawn Anaquod, Maureen Belanger and Dwayne Favel, as we listen to live entertainment from Just the Boyz, JJ Lavallee, and watch the amazing Qu'Appelle Valley Dancers.

Then our competition starts at 6:00 pm and a family dance follows the competition!

Everyone is welcome to join in or to come to watch and root for their favourite competitors.

ANY LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE CAN JOIN!

Pre-register online OR in-person from 4-6 pm on Friday.
